Cantilevered concrete treads anchored into the structure behind them, with a gap and a clean shadow line underneath instead of a solid stair. One of the more technical jobs we do, and a good look at what a formwork crew can pull off.
Each tread is anchored into a wall or stringer and cantilevers out with nothing visibly holding it up underneath. The strength comes from steel reinforcement tied back into the structure, not from the tread itself — which is why the formwork and anchor points matter more on this job than almost any other finish we do.
Four stages, in order. You'll know which one we're up to.
We look at the structure the steps tie into and what's carrying the load, then quote a fixed price.
Anchor points and reinforcement set into the wall or stringer the treads will cantilever from — this is what makes them safe, not just the concrete itself.
Each tread formed and poured to sit clear of the one below it, finished to match the rest of the job.
Formwork stripped once cured, edges cleaned up, and the site left tidy. We tell you when they're right to use.
